Easter and Passover are right around the corner. For men and women serving in the military, being away from home during the holidays is especially difficult. What a great time to get our kids involved in lifting soldiers’ spirits by sending them care packages or cards! Family Circle magazine (April 1, 2010) recently listed several websites that support our troops by identifying items that soldiers need or want from t-shirts and dental floss to puzzles and disposable cameras. I’ve checked out these soldier-supportive organizations, and they provide everything you need including detailed supply lists, packaging directions, mailing instructions, and even what not to send. So have your kids step away from the jelly beans or macaroons. Visit one of these websites together, assemble some care packages, and bring the warmth of spring and the holidays to a soldier or two!
