We are YesKidzCan!’s GEO’s — Giving Experience Officers — Julie Chapman and Lisa Novick. When we started YesKidzCan! in 2010, we could have only hoped for such rewarding sentiments as those shared by Jenny. We hoped that 20 years of working for nonprofits, running our own philanthropy consulting firm, and sharing our perspectives on community service in articles, trainings, and presentations would inspire us to create something meaningful. Becoming parents (Lisa has a daughter in middle school, and Julie has two sons in elementary school) sealed the deal for us and led us to starting YesKidzCan!
Like so many of you, we work hard at raising happy, productive, and considerate kids. Part of that child-rearing has involved thinking a lot about how to raise community-minded kids as well. But how do we find time to energize our kids about charitable giving with all the other “stuff” going on in our lives?
We hope one answer is YesKidzCan! Together, we can help our kids learn and grow through fun giving experiences!
